2017+ L5P Injector Issues?

A common problem with these 2017, 2018,2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 Chevy and GMC Duramax Diesel 6.6L L5P’s. These truck will start getting a misfire and or a check engine light with misfire codes. Most people would assume that you have an injector going out on the truck and sometimes it can be. But most of the time the problem behind isn’t an injector at all but just an injector pigtail connector. What happens is the connectors wear out over time causing a short within the connector causing the injector to misfire. Its very rare we find that the actual injector has failed. In the picture below you can see what one of these connectors look like when they fail. The connector will look burned inside. Below is a picture for refence of a new pigtail versus a burned pigtail. Fleece performance offers a great and affordable product that you can purchase to replace the connectors at nearly half of the price of what the dealership sells. We offer all of these items in our shop and have listed the links below for sale on our website.
