How We Built a 2600 HP 3200 FT TORQUE Cummins: Inside the Monster Behind Mid-5s 1/8-Mile Passes

T3 Speed Shop, pushing the limits isn’t a goal — it’s the standard. One of our proudest accomplishments is a triple-turbo Cummins build that laid down 2600 horsepower and ran mid-5s in the 1/8 mile, 308’ sled pulling machine. This isn’t your average street truck — it’s a purpose-built machine, tuned to dominate dynos, drag strips, and anything in between.

Here’s a breakdown of what went into this absolute unit.

The Goal: Diesel Domination

We wanted a truck that could:
• Compete at the highest levels of dyno, drag racing, and sled pulling
• Showcase our in-house fabrication capabilities
• Handle absurd horsepower reliably

This build wasn’t just about making a big number. It had to stay together, deliver repeatable performance, and turn heads doing it.

The Powerplant

At the heart is a 6.4L Industrial Injection Shredder Series Cummins Long Block
6.7L Cummins Block w/ 4.130 Bore Ductile Iron Sleeves Installed

Bore Hone Torque Plated

Fully Balanced/Polished Rotating Assembly

Diamond Forged 4.130 Bore Pistons (Late 5.9 Large Bowl)

14mm Silver Back Gorilla Girdle installed w/ ARP Main Studs

Wagler HD Forged Rods

Billet 220/240 Hamilton Camshaft

Billet Oversized Tappets

Stage 3 Cylinder Head w/ 36mm Oversized Valves

120lb Valve Springs

Radius Cut Fire ring Grooves w/ Fire ring Head Gasket

Stainless Steel Gas Nitrated Valves

Diamond Honed Steel Guides

Custom High Temp Valves Seats

Intake Plenum Machined Off

5 Axis CNC Ported & Hand Blended Intake & Exhaust Ports

Drilled & Tapped Coolant Freeze Plugs In Cylinder Head

Billet Valve Bridges

Custom DLC Coated Trunnions

ARP 625 High Strength Head Studs

Stage 2 Billet Pushrods

Billet Shredder Series Valve Cover

Coated HX Series Main & Rod Bearings

Billet Freeze Plugs

Fluid Damper

We paired this with a heavily worked over crank, balanced to survive north of 2K horsepower. The block was Concrete filled Block w/ 1” Deck Plate, 1” Longer Wagler HD Forged Rods to handle serious boost.

Triple Turbo Setup

Air delivery comes via a triple-turbo compound system:
•GT55 high-pressure
• S488 mid
• S488 low-pressure/atmosphere

This layout provides instant spool with massive top-end charge, feeding over 120 PSI of boost at peak.

 Fueling the Beast

The fueling system is just as serious:
• Dual 12mm industrial injection pumps
• Massive 700% over injectors
• Custom fuel rails and return system

Paired with water-meth and custom tuning, it’s a balance of flow, control, and firepower.

Chassis & Fabrication

Everything you see on this truck — from the turbo piping to the roll cage — was fabricated in-house at T3 Speed Shop:
• TIG-welded stainless hot and cold sides
• Custom 4-link rear suspension
• Full  roll cage, certified
• Race-weight reduction with just enough safety

If it bolted on, we probably cut it off and built it better.

 Dyno & Track Numbers
• Peak HP: 2664 hp
• Torque: 3244
• 1/8 Mile: 5.58 seconds

308’ Sled pull
• Boost: 120+ PSI
• EGTs: Managed water-meth and smart timing

All of this on a chassis that weighs over 5,500 lbs.

 Lessons Learned

At this level, every detail matters. Here are a few takeaways:
• Tuning is everything — small timing or pressure changes can make or break the run.
• Heat kills — aggressive cooling strategies are essential.
• Fabrication quality matters — leaks, cracks, or poor welds will end your day early.
