Thinking about a FASS on your RAM 2500/3500? Here’s exactly how your day will go at T3 Speed Shop—from what to bring, to how long each step takes, to the post-install tips that keep your truck happy. No guessing, no surprises—just a clean, professional install and a truck that starts, idles, and tows more consistently.
Bring the truck the way you actually use it. A few minutes of prep saves a lot of time in the bay.
Fuel level: Aim for ¼–½ tank. This makes line priming faster and keeps us from wrestling a full tank if we need to inspect the pickup.
Bed access: Clear the area near the frame rails where we’ll route lines. If you have a tonneau cover or toolbox, make sure we can open/remove it easily.
Aux tanks/bedliners: If you have an auxiliary tank, bring any keys/fittings; if a bedliner blocks access to mounting points, let us know.
Keys/fobs: We’ll need both keys if the truck has security/remote-start features.
Contact & approvals: Confirm your best phone number; we call before any changes.
Financing: If you plan to finance, complete the pre-approval before drop-off so there’s no delay at pickup.
Shuttle/ride: We can help coordinate a rideshare or give you the best nearby lunch/work spots if you’re waiting.
Most FASS installs are same-day. Here’s the general flow and timing so you can plan your day.
0:00–0:20 — Check-in & baseline
Review work order and options (draw straw/sump as applicable).
Quick supply-pressure snapshot and visual inspection of lines/filters.
0:20–1:40 — Mounting & layout
Choose/confirm mounting location (isolation bushings for noise control).
Mock-up line routing for protection/clearance and heat avoidance.
1:40–3:10 — Plumbing, wiring & relay
Route feed/return lines with abrasion sleeves and proper clamps.
Wire to a fused relay and tidy harness routing (no rattles, no chafe).
3:10–3:40 — Filter prime & first start
Pre-fill/prime filters; bleed air, verify initial supply PSI at idle.
3:40–4:30 — Quality checks & road test
Leak check, idle/drive pressure, quick DTC scan.
Short drive: confirm smooth tip-in and clean restarts.
What can extend the day (we’ll call first):
Seized fittings / fragile quick-connects on higher-mileage trucks
Aux tank plumbing or non-standard tank pickups
Sump/draw straw install (bed/tank access complexity)
Bedliner or toolbox removal to access mounting points
Discovering tired charge boots/boost leaks you want addressed while we’re in there
The install is only half the job. Validation is where reliability comes from.
Leak & torque audit: All fittings, clamps, and brackets rechecked after warm-up.
Fuel pressure data: Idle, light cruise, and a short grade-style pull to verify stable supply.
Module scan: Read/clear any codes unrelated to the work; flag anything worth your attention.
Road manners: We deliberately test tip-in, low-speed maneuvers, and a steady mid-throttle pull to ensure no “starve/surge” behavior.
You’ll leave with a one-page report: baseline pressure, post-install pressure, notes, and your filter interval plan.
What’s normal to hear: A faint hum by the tank or frame at idle. In the cab, it’s usually inaudible once moving.
First day: After the first drive and cool-down, you might hear a tiny change as the system fully de-aerates—totally normal.
Filter intervals: Plan 10–15k miles for filters under normal conditions; shorten in winter (water risk) and dusty seasons. We’ll write a mileage target on your invoice.
Carry spares: Toss a spare filter set and a pair of nitrile gloves in the truck for road trips.
Good habits: Drain the water separator if you suspect bad fuel; keep receipts/notes for warranty and service history.
Your install includes follow-up care:
Free supply-pressure re-check within 30–45 days (or sooner if you’re towing a big trip).
Complimentary fitting/line inspection at your next service or oil change—just mention you have a FASS.
We document your filter cadence so any tech in the future can see what’s due.
We stock common kits for 5.9L/6.7L Cummins applications. If your truck needs a specific pickup solution (draw straw vs. sump) or you’re pairing with other services, we’ll build that into the schedule.

Transparent pricing, clean wiring/lines, verified pressure on a road test. Financing available.
If everything is straightforward, many installs are same-day. You’re welcome to wait, grab lunch nearby, or we’ll help with a rideshare. If we hit something unexpected (fittings, aux tank plumbing), we’ll call you with a new pickup time.
Usually no. A FASS stabilizes supply pressure and removes air/water; your existing calibration typically feels smoother as rail pressure stops “hunting.” If your tune was compensating for a weak pump, we may suggest a quick verification log, but a full retune isn’t commonly required.
We don’t keep loaners on-site, but we’ll happily coordinate rideshare or help plan your day around the install window. Ask at booking—we’ll set you up.
Consistent supply pressure, cleaner filtration, and fewer surprises on grades make every drive calmer. Book your FASS install and leave with a truck that feels the way a Cummins should.
